Midnight Sun Golden Circle
Main Sights:
- Þingvellir National Park
- Gullfoss waterfall
- Geysir hot spring
- Kerid Crater
During the summer months, you are able to experience the beauty of the midnight sun. The sun refuses to set completely, leaving famous landmarks basking in the golden light. Let our knowledgeable local guide take you on a unique journey to Iceland’s most popular destination – the Golden Circle. The sites we will explore together are Thingvellir National Park, Haukadalur geothermal area, Gullfoss “The Golden Waterfall” and Kerid Crater. Visit the place of the world’s first parliament – Althingi (Alþingi)– at Thingvellir (Þingvellir) National Park. Eurasian and North American tectonic plates can be seen here, slowly drifting apart from each other. Haukadalur valley brings earth to life! Geysers are on display here, as one of only 5 countries in the world where you can see them. Strokkur (old Geyser’s younger brother) erupts every 5-10 minutes, so keep your cameras ready! The golden waterfall Gullfoss will leave you breathless as you walk alongside its cascades. It is truly beautiful on photos, but quite important in Icelandic culture as the birthplace of environmentalism. Explore Iceland during the Midnight Sun - with no crowds!
