Glacier Panorama Trail
Enjoy a hike with some of the best panoramic views of the south coast. The contrast of sparkling glaciers, black sand beaches and the Atlantic Ocean are a sight to behold. Iceland’s geological wonders have been sculpted over thousands of years. You will witness some of the awe-inspiring landscapes that have formed during this tour.
Your adventure starts with meeting your expert guide at the Sólheimajökull parking lot. After a transfer to our base below Mýrdsljökull, you will board our glacier truck, which will transport you to approximately 750 m high on the trail to Mýrdalsjökull glacier. If the day is clear, you can see Katla volcano and the infamous Eyjafjallajökull glacier in the distance. On your descent to Sólheimajökull, you will take in the spectacular sights that this area has to offer. In order to preserve the fragile nature in the area, please stay on the path and take caution where the trail is narrow.
